LUCKNOW: A 22-year-old woman was allegedly hit by a car and carried on its bonnet for around 20-25 metres before falling onto the road after a heated argument with a man she identified as her “boyfriend” near Janeshwar Mishra Park in Gomti Nagar Extension on Wednesday morning. The woman, Anamika, has alleged that the man, Shahnawaz Ali, had introduced himself to her as “Yash Thakur” and that she learnt his actual identity during the confrontation.A video of the incident went viral on social media, showing Anamika clinging to the bonnet of a moving car and apparently crying for help. Argument began after woman allegedly spotted him with another woman

As the argument escalated, Shahnawaz got into the car with another person, identified as Danish, and tried to drive away.Anamika reportedly stood in front of the vehicle in an attempt to stop him.

‘Falsely implicated in case’

Shahnawaz, who works in the construction business, denied the allegations and said he had been falsely implicated in the case.He told police that Anamika had allegedly been following and harassing him for the past six months and had also taken money from him.
